OPENING THE SEALS is a long series of meditations on certain syllables.  The syllables in question are those that Patrick Ryan suggests as the original monosyllabic morphemes in what he postulates as human Proto-Language, as of 100,000 years before present.  Ryan’s work is exciting and (or because) highly speculative.  What caught me, however, are the clusters of meanings he discovered in or assigned to each of the syllables.  On those syllables and their associated meanings my texts try to work.  Each poem deals with one syllable – and Ryan’s cluster of meanings is given at the start of each.

The whole series is long.  You can download and read it here as a big pdf file.
